These are a few of my favorite things…

Marion Cotillard for Vogue.

One of my favorite actresses, Marion Cotillard, graces the cover of the July issue of Vogue. Finally, a cover-girl I want to read about – one who is mysterious from a media perspective – and is graceful in all of her films.

In lace, silk-chiffon, cashmere and tulle, Marion captures the true essence of what a Vogue woman is. I’m saving the article until I have the issue in my hands – but just for a glimpse – here is an excerpt from article:

Marion has changed into a sparkly white T-shirt dress—from Zadig & Voltaire, not Dior. She’s taken off the striped leggings but kept the motorcycle boots. “Marion,” says David Lynch, “is beautiful, very talented, and thinks good like a rebel.” – via vogue.com

Absolutely beautiful photography and spread -  I can’t wait for this issue to hit newsstands.

Jason Derulo: ‘Ridin’ Solo’

My favorite song of the week is Jason Derulo’s Ridin’ Solo.

I recently watched his music video and all I kept on thinking was, he’s the next Chris Brown, he’s the next Chris Brown..

Let’s just hope he doesn’t pull a Chris Brown.

Vanessa Hudgens is Sweater Casual.

Who said sweaters can’t be worn on the Red Carpet? Or that wearing a sweater on a night out on the town is consider ‘grandma-ish.” Personally – I’m always in a sweater – during the day or when I go out – and on numerous occasions, I get told that I look like a nonna - a grandma. Well, I’m here to say that my favorite fashionista – Vanessa Hudgens proved that sweaters can be stylish – especially on a night out.

Also – those suede platform heels that you have hidden in your closet – because they are too “winter-ish” – please take them out and put them to use. There is never a wrong season for your suede platform heels. Just look at VHudg.

Whenever you’re in doubt of what to wear or if you’re afraid something looks ‘silly’ -  just ask yourself, “what would VHUDG wear?” You’ll always find your answer and step out of your house looking confident and fashion-forward.

Tony Awards: Lea Michele

On Monday night, I tuned in to the Tony Awards for one reason – Lea Michele. Let me just put it out there – I may or may not have a girl-crush on her. I love her style – her elegance – especially her voice. Every song she sings – I always manage to get chills. Her voice is one of a kind – and should anyone ever consider a re-make of the classic Funny Girl – Lea should definitely take the role. Her performance at the Tony’s was pretty much her audition. She added to the beauty of her performance with a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana dress – simple yet classy.

Aside from her performance – Lea wore a stunning marigold Zac Posen gown. I’m not a fan of yellow shades – but she pulled off this color and style perfectly well. Enough for me to actually consider turning to the color to add to my summer wardrobe.

Till the Fall, I’ll be re-watching season 1 for my fill of everything Glee.

Rachel Roy Jewelry for Macy’s.

I’m all about being a ‘frugalista’ – being smart about fashion – spending less on the trends – and more on the staples – the pieces you can return to season after season. Yet, it’s always nice to indulge in designer items – but what’s even better is when designer pieces – of great quality – are accessible and friendly to your banking account. So naturally, with Rachel Roy designing for Macy’s – I’m the first in line. With her brand new jewelry designs – I’m head-over-heels obsessed – especially with this stunning goldtone necklace.

Would you believe me if I said this was only $34? Ah yes, the beauty of being a recessionista.

Alison Lewis for Target Red Hot Shop.

Do you remember Alison Lewis? If not, I highly suggest you become acquainted with her vintagey-classic designs. Her line, Lewis, has recently been recognized with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA)- which is the Oscars/Golden Globes of fashion. Her line includes skirts, rompers, breezy dresses, with beautiful floral designs, intricate cut-outs – all of which remind me of tea parties.

Should you love to don one of her designs – be prepared to dish out anything between $200-$400. Yet, thanks to the ‘frugalista’ push that have designers hopping onto Target‘s band wagon, Alison Lewis has created fresh designs for Target’s Red Hot Shop.

Her silk chiffon dress is online only for $89.99 – the perfect summer dress for all of your tea-party and park visits.
